It's so convenient having a hardware store like this in Garden City now. It seems like there's always something we forget to bring and usually Ace has it. Really more of a general store than just a hardware store, honestly. Great selection and even my kids love going in and looking around while I get what I need. Very knowledgable, helpful staff as well!

We came to bear lake on vacation for the week and bought several items to play during our stay. The inflatable pool turned out to be defective upon opening as it leaked immediately upon adding water. We tried to exchange this item without any success.

In reading other reviews, this seems consistent. Poor return and exchange policy. In retrospect, the manager didn't verify date of purchase or offer to look at the product to see if used. A trained "no" regardless of circumstances.

Gave two stars as it is a nice store with a good selection for the city. Without this experience, it is a great store. I would just have caution buying anything that you can't verify is functional without opening it.

Last weekend 7/7/2024 about 12 p.m. we visited your store several times trying to match the paint on the wall of our cabin. Two times we purchased paint but it wasn't a great match. We brought in the old paint bucket hoping for a miracle. (I hope I have the right name) Nathan gave excellent customer service. He went above and beyond to make our old paint a spreadable consistency. He provided extraordinary customer service combined with excellent knowledge of his craft. Our painting adventure was a complete success thanks to the diligent and kind efforts of your employee Nathan. Please let him know that his amazing customer service did not go unnoticed!!

I went in to get some screws, got em', and bro at the till, I guess acted like I needed some exercise and sent me BACK to check the price. Just skip your gym before you come here because some lazy what-have-you didn't want to keep track of their garb.

I was just delivering building supplies for their new store all the shelving the guys unloaded me a day early that'll give him five stars. I believe it's going to end up looking really nice when they're all said and done right now they're still putting it all together.

I bought a fishing pole on August 2nd to use on a vacation with my family at our cabin. We properly loaded the fishing line and when we tried to cast, the line immediately tangled. We are experienced with fishing and know we used it properly and assumed it must be defective.

We are on vacation and didn’t have time to get back to the store until today the 5th (3 days later). We tried to return the pole and the manager instead told us he had fixed it and he can’t take it back because it’s been used.

He told me the quality of this product is not good, and if I wanted a fishing pole that would work, I should have bought a different brand like the Ugly Stick.

He then suggested if it breaks again to bring it back in and they would fix it again. I told him I don’t have time to bring it back every time we cast, and we live 3 hours away so that’s not feasible for a fishing pole.

He then again said it’s not a high quality fishing pole and it’s expected to get tangled even with the first use and we should’ve bought a different one.

I’m disappointed they were unable to stand behind their product, and wish they wouldn’t sell something they know off the bat won’t work properly.

Torn about this one. One day I was in there and a guy helped us out a ton with getting some grilling equipment! Phenomenal customer care. The very next morning we came to buy some sleds. We spend $250 on sleds just to find that the sleds were defective only 30-40 minutes later. We returned to the store within 2 hours to return the defective sleds and exchange them for some nicer ones. No returns were allowed, no store credit, etc. despite the receipts stating that there is a 90 day return/refund policy. I had spent $1,500 across two days here & customer service collapsed for a $100 issue. Fairly upsetting.

Wish I could leave a stronger review seeing as they are a solo supplier/shop of their kind in the area… but I felt it was important to share our experience. Buy once, if you are hesitant or worried that you may need to return an item, purchase it from another store. The returns & refund process will not go well here - it seems that there isn’t one unless it’s an ‘ace’ branded product.
