We have been buying meat from Alwan & Sons for years. We moved down to St Louis and now drive up with a cooler to buy our meat. We also buy gift cards for people. But today when we bought hamburger meat for a gift for someone we discovered it was filled with brown (old meat) when we packaged it up in 1 lb freezer bags. This has never happened to us before. We have always had superior meat from this establishment until now. What a terrible disappointment! We had to come up with something else as a gift after spending $270 on meat.

What a cool store! So many neat things to choose from and the meat choices are off the charts! Can't wait to try the hearty looking steak and chicken kabobs grilled this evening! We bought Brats too, but I don't eat Bratwurst. Taste reviews will be updated later.
UPDATE: The food was absolutely amazing! So glad we tried out the kabobs! Will definitely be buying these again!

I finally stopped here for lunch and was amazed. On recommendation of a friend, I got two polish sausage and loved it! No after taste or bloating and just the right amount of grease. I'll be back for lunch next time I am in Peoria. Yum yum

This week was my first experience with Alwan and Sons when I dropped off my deer for processing. It was 6:50pm on a Friday night, and in spite of that , an employee (I think one of the owners) came out to help me unload my deer and get me checked in and could not have been more polite and professional. In this day and age, exceptional customer service is rare. This experience alone will have me back not only for deer processing, but to shop in their store. Can’t wait to try the brats and other sausage that I ordered!

Great chop shop. All kinds of cuts of meat. I was able to find the ever elusive slab of pork belly. I got a 15"x15" square slab of it. Had all kinds of bbq sauces. I recommend this place over all other shops in town.

In town visiting family and wanted to find a place for quality meat to enjoy a nice cookout for the holiday weekend. This is the place to shop for quality food in Peoria. Very clean, organized, excellent presentation, prices are solid and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I'm so glad we found Alwan & Sons and will definitely be back! Highly recommend.
