We have been to other City BBQ locations and have found the food excellent. We came to Park Ridge location with high expectations. They were featuring pastrami for a limited time (St. Patrick's Day?). It was a 10 out of 10. Tender and flavourful. I had the Texas Reuben, a huge amount of pastrami with Coleslaw, in house made pickles, and Texas mayo. The husband hD the Founder's plate with 1/2 a pound of pastrami and two sides. Our friend had a the Sampler with a side of pastrami. The pastrami was so good I went back and got half a pound of pastrami to go home. 😋

First time I came here they were sold out of the 2 things I wanted, every other place that I’ve tried brisket I didn’t like. I LOVE THE BRISKET HERE! I enjoy eating inside because it’s very calming and relaxing. The plus it the Pepsi Products for drinks!

Had a wonderful time at City Barbecue. We ordered the "2hollis" meal, and the star of the show was certainly the mouth-watering brisket, which was cooked perfectly. The sides were also stellar, and all of the wide selection of sauces that I tried were incredible. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the big C!

It was not a great day to eat barbecue… The brisket and the ribs were jerky-dry. The staff did not seem to know the difference between lean and fatty brisket, and all of this for 30 bucks? I'll pass

I personally think the smoked Chicken is actually the best thing here, but there's a lot to like about City Barbeque.
The Brisket, Turkey, and Pulled Pork are also very solid options. All of which are also sold as sandwiches or by the pound.
All the meats here are served unsauced so you have to slather them up. They have about 5 different sauces to choose from and if you dine in you can try them all and add as much as you want.
They sell individual rib bones too so you can try the ribs without having to commit to a $30 slab. Getting a bone or two on top of a sandwich never hurt anyone. Like any other BBQ place you'll come across, when they're gone, they're gone.
I think the worst thing I ever had here was the Not a Sloppy Joe sandwich. Even then that was still a very acceptable sandwich.
City BBQ has about a dozen side dishes to pick from. The Cavatappi mac and cheese, green beans with bacon and banana pudding are my faves. Texas style garlic toast similar to Raising Canes is served with some dishes here as well.
Certainly not a great deal to see here and most orders tend to be carried out so you'll have plenty of seating options if you dine in.
If you have an account and the app you can scan your receipt and earn points. Accumulated points turn into $5 coupons essentially. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't earned and redeemed a few of those already with plans to earn more

However this place exceeded my expectations honestly the food was amazing I got a high five from my 4 sons and im one proud mama! Now I ordered the family feast and I chose the brisket, potato salad, Mac and cheese, and creamy Cole slaw, and the beans with brisket every single thing was super super good!!! Trust me I've done so many reviews on food and I'm 100% honest with my reviews, try this place please!!! OH WAIT!!!! IVE NEVER HAD PEACH COBBLER IN 42 YEARS LOL AND I MUST SAY IM SO EXCITED TO SAY ITS AMAZING!!!!!

The first time we stopped in they were out of almost everything except sausage. Not a great first impression and we left to find something else to eat.

I was determined to get some barbecue though so we tried again. On the second visit we shared the Judge's Sampler.

The chicken had a nice sweet sauce. Pulled pork was nicely cooked with a good bark. She loved the brisket, I liked it okay.

The ribs were meaty and had a fantastic bark. I loved them but she wasn't as impressed because of a piece of gristle. Picky.

The tater salad was pretty good and the collard greens were delicious and perfectly seasoned. They even made me homesick for the south. The cornbread was bland but perfectly baked.

The place is bright and open and everyone is friendly. The tables were sticky though and she found some silverware that was still greasy. Some of the food was hot and some of it was cold, like it wasn't all cooked at the same time.

Five stars for the meats, six stars for the ribs. Ten stars for the greens. Minus points for the sticky tables and dirty silverware. Another minus for not having any hot sauce on the tables. What kind of self-respecting BBQ joint doesn't have Crystal or Tabasco on the tables? A great one has both, plus a bottle of pepper sauce.
