A reunion of sorts from a group dating back to grammar school, this Oak Park establishment is a neighborhood hang out. The place was very comfortable and good decor to the eye.

Of course, had to try their chicken & waffles since this is their specialty. And it was very good! The 3 wings was fried perfectly with that southern style fine cornmeal breading. Served to order, it took a bit longer than many other places, but did not mind as the friends I was with had many talks to catch up on! An extra order of grits and soft scramble was a nice surprise and was very tasty.

Really enjoyed the food here, the company even more so!!

First time trying this place. Entering the place it was somewhat empty, a few families enjoying dinner, but it felt homey and cozy. The staff was kind. I had 2 orders for take out. One was a Salmon and one was catfish. Getting home I had the strong aroma of the food! It smelled delicious. Did it taste the same as it smelled? YES! my only TWO ISSUES would be that 1. My catfish order was not complete because there was NO CATFISH( really looking forward to this) I was also missing ONE side which was the potato salad. Please check your food when doing take out. Would I return back? Definitely. I hope my order isn’t missing anything when going in person. Thank you for the delicious food!

This place is simply overpriced. The food is mediocre and they only had two servers in the entire place today. Price was $70 with a $10 tip for three people (and one was a kiddie meal) which is too much for a basic breakfast/brunch. Wings are the size of party wings and they give you three. 🙃 They don’t even have maple syrup.

Great food but very lackluster customer service. Our waitress was very pleasant but we had to keep tracking her down to get any service. There were only 3 other small parties seated but we had to wave her over to remind her to bring our drinks after we had already gotten our food and almost chase her around the restaurant to get the check. Then the worst part is she hovered over my boyfriend's shoulder, watching him, as he selected the tip amount and wouldn't give him a receipt . That was the most attention we got all night. If we ever come back, we'll be sure to do take out.

This place is amazing and the food is flavorful and delish. We were greated by the hostess and seated promptly. Our server Amari was wonderful and the gentleman serving water was quick to make sure we had water.
The fried chicken was golden brown, juicy and seasoned well. My 11yo gave it 10 stars. The yams were a wonderful blend of flavors and the greens..... 2 thumbs up. The new item on the menu was really good. I would have preferred the veggies on top to be diced up more but good nonetheless. Next time we are back in Chicago, will definitely stop by again.

Hostess was a bit rude and disengaged, but the waiter and food made up for it. I had the 5 egg chicken omelet. It was great.
