Please read...Do NOT use this company (Chicago). They bait and switch, and charge you more and more as you go, while half your items are packed and loaded, and push papers in your face.
We have moved 7 times, and this company by far has been the worst experience. We moved from IL to FL, and I honestly was trying to keep in a budget, but IVL was highly rated by Forbes Magazine and multiple other publications. The sales person at the beginning was attentive and great with follow up. Still had a positive feeling.
Then, some inventory changes occurred, and I took off and added some items, which supposedly dropped the cost a little. I packed us but paid extra for them to pack an 80 inch tv and a large mirror, as well as a handling fee for a treadmill.
Well, the loading crew comes to me with a bill for $600 halfway through their prep before loading, for the packing materials used for those items they already charged a fee for. Then, they went to take an hour for lunch and were gone for over 2 1/2 hours! At that time, they hadn't loaded a thing on the truck. Next thing you know, they are telling me that we filled the truck so our $7k estimate is now $11k, not including the additional packing material. I only added on a couple items I forgot in the garage and a shelving unit.
Fast forward to delivery, mirror THEY packed was only put in a box with no packing material and was broken in 3 places. Treadmill pieces missing so the delivery crew couldn't assemble it and it's unusable.
A bench with 4 legs is now unusable because they removed the legs and they are missing.
Meanwhile, I was disputing the additional $4K from loading, and now I'm fighting with them about these items that were broken. While I did not take additional insurance, I have NEVER had a moving company fail to make any attempt to repair any of these items! They basically threw $2500 at me and said take it or leave it.
DO NOT USE THEM!
Our FL delivery crew was significantly more polite, respectful and handled our items much better.

One reason that moving is widely acknowledged to suck is moving companies themselves. International Van Lines is awesome at communication before they have your money. After they've been paid, communication gets really, really bad. Avoid them if you can.

Normally my husband does all the moving. Unfortunately, after his recent heart attack he was unable to do it anymore. We had never used a moving company before and had no idea what to expect. International Van Lines not only answered all of my questions and talked me through the process and made sure we were in the loop the whole way.
They were punctual, professional, efficient, and more importantly to me they were honest and kind. I highly recommend this company to anyone about to make a move.

And they held their end of the bargain. The customer service was superb and their price is very affordable compared to some other companies we considered.
