Drivers Beware

This is my experience from the Vegas yard.

The only Pro here is that you will get a check (every week), as long as you are employed here. The moment you quit after putting in a notice, they will find a way to keep your money. We have not even reached the escrow yet…

I’m proof positive that they do not take care of their trucks. The very next day after getting into a truck, I received a call that I needed to return to the yard for maintenance.

DOT violations = $400/ea violation. Not inspection… 1 inspection w/4 violations, $1600 out of your check. We are not even talking out of service. Yes, that blown turn signal that you put off changing… $400 reminder fee..

Trailers… tires; you better be able to prove that you keep up with airing up your tires or they will charge you.

Equipment; subpar.. I received 2 8’ tarps. 1 was cut in half and no d rings. I didn’t realize this until my first load. Had to return to the yard for a replacement after loading my first load.

Their trucks are filthy. Be prepared to spend a day cleaning up your truck. That’s if you are not rushed out your first day.

Dispatch
Company Drivers. You can run as much as you want… theoretically… whatever metrics they are using will cause you to sit for days in certain areas.

Lease operators. Just make sure your dispatcher knows that they work for you. Otherwise you will fall into the same situation as above.

The personalities of the people are great… however, as a driver, you are nowhere on the totem pole, you are beneath it.

If you enjoy open deck, and are ready to retire, this may be the company for you. Just remember, your last check will not be issued.
