Small airport, can get through TSA fairly quickly. Don't have many options as far as different places for food and drinks but do have some. Staff is decent. Parking isn't super highly priced.

Easy to get in and out. Allegiant Airlines. Small airlines. Friendly service and good parking area well lighted. Super easy and not stressful to get to your terminal. Got to love that. It is also very clean and the restroom is also clean. 😊I will be using this airport again.

Traveled for vacation, 5 pm on Sunday 1/19/2025, and found the TSA agent taking the ID/ boarding pass to be abrasive and short tempered. I was rather shocked, as this was not the demeanor I’m accustomed to in the rockford area.

Given the $9/day parking charge, I’ll fly out of Peoria or O’Hare going forward. Despite the apparent convenience, costs seem comparable, and the airport TSA staff is no more amenable nor professional (read that as “no more kinder”) than in Chicago O’Hare.

Hands down absolutely the worst experience received not at the airport itself but at the café in a previous review I noticed the photo of the lady, I believe her name was Mary short grey hair, Mary she was horrible and rude and absolutely obnoxious. When I asked for a phone charger outlet as the the plane was delayed by five hours. She proceeded to tell me that the only charger in the airport was by the airport gate …and not in the café/bar area, Actually it turned out there was someone charging their phone by the video gaming machine, long story short I found a charger by the coffee station I went over and plugged in, Mary in Rockford airport cafe/ bar rushed out and told me, sir you cannot do that you’re going to cause a power outage as I tried to remove it. I knocked some popcorn cheese on the floor which I cleaned up nicely. Then shockingly her and her colleague in the café Absolutely set me up moved the cheese dust and the rag and then took pictures. Absolutely disgusting.

The airport was OK but Mary the bartender was very rude and not a people person. When you have to pay top dollar for drinks at the airport, They should at least put a pleasant person behind the bar.

I arrived and parked which was flawless. Checked in and went through security, again flawless. Went to the bar since I had time. Bartender wasn't very welcoming. Just asked what I wanted. Makes my drink which was good but extremely overpriced but I know what I'm paying for at an airport. It's a small area sharing the snack/drink/bar area. The bartender and cook were hollering back to the clerk at the snack area, yelling over people standing in front of them. The cook, standing at the end of the bar with an apron on, continously was coughing in his hand while talking to the bartender about their fantasy football. The fantasy football part, I didn't care about. When they were dropping f bombs, thats pretty unprofessional along with the cook coughing in his hand and going in the kitchen to prep food. An attractive woman was in the bar, she left and these two were making comments about her as she walked away. I've been through RFD enough times but never had witnessed this before. Please clean this up.

I had a wonderful experience at Chicago Rockford International Airport. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed with how clean and well-maintained everything was. The airport is small enough to be easy to navigate but offers all the amenities you'd need for a smooth trip.

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Special shoutout to TSA agent Borders, who was incredibly helpful and a pleasure to talk to. She made the security process quick and painless, which really set a positive tone for the rest of my time at the airport.

Parking was a breeze as well. It was easy to find a spot, and the parking areas were well-marked, making the entire experience stress-free.

Overall, I highly recommend this airport for anyone looking for a smooth, enjoyable travel experience with a team of warm and helpful staff.

Always a pleasure to fly out of and into. RFD continues to improve your flying experience with remodeled restrooms, quality food and reasonably priced parking (although it used to be free). No layovers or long trips to the airport or long taxis (and delays) getting the planes off the ground. The only disadvantage is the few routes and times available to fly (although they are adding new routes often). Overall, the best value for the money with no hassle flying!
