Excellent food and service. Great breakfast options while staying at the Drake Oakbrook. Staff were quite friendly and accommodating of any changes requested.

Wanted to give this place a try after seeing it on open table. The photos looked really great with the outdoor seating area. However, when we got there it was booked for a shower. I wish it would've stated that particular area was not available for that day that was one of the reasons I booked it. But, the food was phenomenal! Everything was well seasoned! The mango margaritas were a hit! I will be returning here hopefully I'll get the chance to experience the outdoor seating next time.

Review is for high tea and not meal service.

Atmosphere: 5. Lovely fireplace seating. Decor and warmth of room was very nice

Presentation: 4. Table was a bit crowded for the # of things on it

Explanation: 1. This fell short. There were five jams/compotes on the table. No explanation of what each was. No description or summary of tea sandwiches when served, nor of the type of scones, bread and deserts. When asked, was hurriedly told what they thought it was. Huge missed opportunity to sell high tea.

Food: 3. the bread on the sandwiches was dry on the top, which means they are sitting out in the kitchen. Tea was good quality loose tea but limited choices. Only one black tea out of nine total. However they do replenish the dishes which is a nice touch

Service: 3.5. kind, nice but not knowledgeable about high tea. Requests for refills were promptly taken care of, I just wish we would have had more explanation about what they served.

The staff and room made it nice experience overall but will not return for high tea.

The death by chocolate is very good! The ice cream has to be ordered as a separate order but worth doing. Really want to try their high tea! Their brussel sprout salad is super, but order it at the restaurant for some reason it's a dollar more at the bar. The Sunday brunch is extensive, something there for everybody, and the food was fresh until the very end.

I went here this week with one of my girlfriends for Mocktails and an appetizer. First of all the bartender/server did not know how to make a mocktail. My friend’s spritz was flat and it called for rosemary but there was none in it. For Mocktails that are over $10 that is simply unacceptable. She barely drank it and told him it was flat and he did not comp it which would have been appreciated since it was terrible.

On to the crab cakes, —they were quite small and tasted like mystery meat plus the avocado looked unappealing.

Third: The server/ bartender must have been new or just poorly trained as we split the bill and he charged me for the whole bill twice (he reversed it) didn’t apologize for this and then goes to charge me an additional tip on my card when I tipped cash and wrote that on the receipt! Also we had to wait ten minutes to pay the bill. We had to go up to the bar and pay because he did not come to give us the check! It was not crowded Wtf! Will not be coming back.

My best friend and I went on a girl date to celebrate her upcoming marriage. The afternoon tea at the Drake Oak Brook exceeded expectations! We were welcomed with warm scones with spreads. All tasting homemade. There were plenty of tea selections including decaf options. Then it was followed with three tears of finger foods including sandwiches, macaroons, cakes, and fruit. David our waiter continuously refilled out teapots and finger foods. The attention we were provided made us feel special. The chef prepared a surprise desert once hearing of the celebrations. Truly thankful and will be returning.

Didn't eat here, but only the very bar (not just bar area) was busy and no one anywhere else so it felt sad since there was no bar space...

Had a wonderful experience here at the Colonial Room at the Drake Hotel. David was an excellent waiter! Highly recommend!
