Drove here for half a year. They told me I was gonna get 60 cents when I started and only got 52 cents. They expect you to stay out 2-3 weeks at a time. To me it wasn’t worth it. I was barely even making over 800 a week. Didn’t even get close to 1200 to 1300 a week. I would get good miles. Then sit a day to get an another load. If you’re a new driver this is a good place. But for an experience driver the pay is to low.

Also the review for Lisa, she’s a recruiter and not a driver based out of Texas.

This company will also charge you a $750 dollar cleaning fee for their trucks that Is deducted from your pay.

Snokers, just so you know you can’t smoke in their trucks. If you do you won’t get the $750 dollars back. No showers or laundry at their terminal. If you go to see your dispatcher get ready to wait they literally don’t respect drivers time. The dispatchers get a nice coffee machine while the drivers don’t and have to pay for theirs. Allot of cons at this company good luck

Hired on in January 2024, when Chicago was in the depth of a freeze. They didn't have any trucks with heater blocks plugged in. Sat for a day waiting on batteries for a truck to do road test in. HR said they'd sent me an email with what to bring, which no one else in my orientation class recieved. On site maintenance is closed on the weekends. These are red flags that I sadly ignored.

The equipment is terrible. Given a 2018 Cascadia with 750k on it. Coolant reservoir sensor went out, multiple hub seal leaks on drives. Fuel crossover line needed replacement, which left me stranded on the side of the road twice, when the gauge said I had a quarter tank left. This was after the truck had been to the shop twice to address.

They bought about a dozen new tractors in early 24, but by the time I left in August most were still sitting, waiting to be badged.

Trailers are even worse. The culture of safety is sad. CDN has not instilled the value of respect for the other drivers and lack consideration for the next person to touch the trailer. Multiple times I've picked up trailers with flats, as well as outer tandem tires mounted, to where the inner valve stems were inaccessable, meaning they were run flat, and I had to take the trailer to the shop. On one of my last trips, looking for a hole to drop my empty, I drove around their yard and counted over 30 trailers with red tags.

I sat in Houston for 10 days waiting on a differential seal to be replaced. Took the truck to the Freightliner dealership, then my dispatcher asked me to take the truck to some dirt lot, mom and pop, roosters fighting in the yard, place around a few miles up. Because it was in Houston, I was not paid breakdown. More importantly, they offered a Penske / Ryder loaner, but never executed. This was my last straw.

Dispatchers, as others have said, will goto lunch randomly and not forward their phones. Voice mailboxes are full. So if you're at one of those 0500 - 1500 places needing a correct PU or BOL number, you'll burn a day. There is a small skeleton crew on the weekends, so if you're running OTR, it behooves you to get your backhaul lined up Friday day. They also will play favorites and have little respect for your home time. I live in Houston and sat in Laredo for 70+ hours, waiting on a brokered load over the Father's Day weekend.

The 'utilization bonus' they advertise is a joke, and should be considered false advertising. If you get on the wrong side of your dispatcher, or sent into a poor freight market, you'll be lucky to net $1k / week.

Actually getting layover / detention pay is also a challenge if it is not company freight.

There is a bit of "seperate but equal" between the office staff and the drivers. For example, the office staff has access to an on-site gym, filtered water and free coffee. Drivers get tap water, and have to pay for coffee. Another example of bad company culture.

My orientation classmates and I all kept in touch during our time with CDN and our experiences aligned, sadly. We all quit within a week of eachother.

I think because of that, I was offered a new 2024 truck when I gave notice, by my biased, petty, dispatcher, to stay with the company. My reply : Why are you just offering this to me now?

Reviews by Lisa Medlin should be qualified as she's a recruiter for the CDN and lives in Texas, so she lacks on site Chicago experience of drivers v office staff. When she writes about drivers getting massages and haircuts, again, she doesn't work out of the Chicago office. These perks are for the office staff, NOT drivers.

You can always make more money, but you can't make more time. Don't waste your time with CDN.

I retired from there after almost 10yrs there as o/o a year ago last August. Good people made money not a bad place to work for.

Would not recommend. Multiple trash bins on the property. Called the company and his/ her bags were moved a bit farther from the passenger side of this truck they could obviously care less. Tell your trashy drivers to park at the truck stop across the highway not at this Walmart

I hired on with CDN Logistics, a VETERAN owned transportation company in 2021. Recruiting is my passion and I love my job. My direct manager Jihad the Executive VP is always available to me. I was met with kindness and treated like a part of the company, even before I accepted the position. The adjustment of working remote was a little struggle for me but now I’m comfortable and confident in my ability to do my job well.
The DRIVER APPRECIATION WEEK is off the chain. I experienced the sun up until sun down grilling, organizing, sharing and true care each and everyone there showed our awesome truckers who put themselves on the line everyday to get the job done.
I am always busy working with drivers to guide and help them throughout the hiring process. Management is easily accessed. We have an open door policy to everyone.
My most enjoyable part of the day is assisting my applicants to the final step. Thus far, it has been an enjoyable journey.
They have started the free services of masseuse and haircuts. They have an on-site gym, plenty of 18 wheeler truck parking and are always giving fun events to their employees. If you have questions about an opportunity please reach out. You will be given the respect and support you deserve.

Your truck was on the side of the road as we approached. We were about 50 yards away when the driver pulled out in front of us. Had we not gone into the oncoming lane, we would've hit him. THEN as we were at the end of a passing zone, he came roaring up on our left and we had to slam on our brakes to keep from hitting him. Very poor representation of your company.
