I visited Medici for the first time after it came highly recommended by several people. Overall, the experience was good, but there were a couple of things that stood out.

I ordered the ribeye, which had great flavor, but the cut left something to be desired. It was only about half an inch thick, more like a thin slice than a proper steak. Because of how thin it was, it ended up being overcooked and quite chewy. I could have easily eaten three of them. Had it been at least an inch thick, I think it would have been an excellent steak, but at that thickness, it’s incredibly hard to cook it properly.

Additionally, the bartender spent a good portion of the evening openly complaining about having to make certain drinks and other tasks. It was a bit off-putting, as it took away from the overall atmosphere.

That said, the rest of the service and food were solid, and I’d be open to giving it another try.

Medici in Normal, IL is a fantastic early dinner spot! I hadn't visited in a few years, but the food and service were just as exceptional as I remembered. I ordered the Blackened Mahi Mahi Tacos—a dark horse on the menu that has always impressed—and this visit was no exception. My wife tried the Salmon Brûlée, which was delightfully creamy and decadent, and the sweet potato tots we shared were an outstanding appetizer. Highly recommended!

This is probably the worst beer I've ever had im my 35 years. It's called Seismic sue - avoid it all all costs. This is bad mango juice mixed with beer.

Our server Tyler was great. We had the pretzel appetizer, and the cheese sauce was amazing. All of our food was delicious, but we were really excited to see creme brulee on the menu, so we had to try it. Not just vanilla but orange and vanilla. We loved it and would recommend it to everyone.

Excellent service, excellent food, we’ll be back! Pictured here is brisket jalapeño popper appetizer, beef brisket entree with mashed potatoes and green beans, and the great salmon and risotto entree. All was absolutely delicious! Great service as well!

We had lunch reservations but arrived early. We were sat right away and greeted by Andy. He was attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and it was a nice quiet lunch. Thanks!

The atmosphere was beautiful in this restaurant. The food was not as beautiful the pizza was something you would get at any regular pizza place. And my Seafood lasagna had a lot of water at the bottom, which made it very unpleasant. However, the service was great and the appetizers were absolutely delicious. This meal came out to $50 which isn’t bad, but I wouldn’t come here again.

For starters.... The history of the making of this restaurant is fascinating! Beautiful woodwork throughout the interior! I had Tammy as a server...Fantastic! She recommended the beef stroganoff, which did not disappoint me at all! It has a combination of rich buttermilk and smooth sour cream for the base, smothering tender cuts of beef and chunks of mushrooms on a bed of egg noodles to combine a delicious flavorful dish! Complimented by the garlic toast, of course! The espresso was rich and full flavor! 😋 This place is sure to meet your expectations!
