This store refused to accept a return of a broken product. The manager was a real ass about it. He said he would not accept the return because he could not resell the items. I wondered how was that MY problem? I did exactly what HE SHOULD HAVE DONE, contacted the manufacturer, who happily replaced the broken products for me. I then returned those to the store, and finally got my money back. They just lost a frequent customer over nothing. Great retailing there Boss. Not a person in our company will ever shop at Vision Ace again.

Lost my car key earlier this afternoon so I went in around 4 pm to get a copy of my spare made. Stephen in the key department was literally on his way out of work, but stayed for an extra 15 minutes or so just to cut the key for me. It was so cheap-- literally $6. On top of that, everyone behind the key counter was super friendly and chatty. This is the hardware store I grew up going to, and to this day they have a wonderful neighborhood atmosphere that makes it so much more of a joy to shop at than big box hardware stores. My review is based on my negative experience with the window screen department and their employee named Rob and the store manager named Chris. My husband and I had a window screen replaced at this Ace location. The window screen became loose three months after having it replaced at this store. Both the screen and one of the handles started to come off in the corner. Because the store positions itself as having a mission to "help customers solve their problems, big or small, and get on with their lives" I thought they would work with us and fix the screen. Not only would they not replace the screen - they wouldn’t even acknowledge it was their screen! They also wanted to charge $52 for us to pay to have the screen replaced at our cost which was very excessive. (We ended up paying $26 to have the screen replaced at another local reputable business called Alumflo. See my positive 5-star review of that business in my profile).

When I was trying to get the screen repaired with Ace after employee Rob refused to help, I took the time to meet with the manager, Chris, and explain the issues to him but Chris also said he could do nothing. According to Chris, they stand behind their work for only 30 days. After that you are out of luck. You must have a receipt. (This is fair). And when I gave Chris the manager feedback that his employee, Rob is unprofessional, does not provide good customer service and also does not have the skills to repair screens (he is the person that repaired the screen originally), he did not care and said there was nothing he could. Hopefully, this feedback will bring these concerns to their attention so they can improve.

2 star because of how I was spoken to by the older man working by the spray paint area. I asked a question on ihmf the paint would stay on plastic? His response " have you ever seen paint not stick"? As if I was dumb. Then I said it stinks that I had to go to groveland to return paint that stopped spraying(clogged). He responded " complained to Sherman Williams they make our paint and yes of course you can't return something you didn't buy here we didn't get the money that other location did" Again as if I was I was stupid. I said how is someone to know this unless told at checkout. His response " well... you found out didn't you". He's just sooo rude and condensing

Don't waste your time with this ACE! After almost 40 years of supporting this specific store, my husband went in for a particular item. The lady there told him that item was on order, go order it online. We tried, but their website won't allow it. We call to order directly through them and pay in advance, and are given major attitude by a woman who puts us on hold for an extended period of time and then hangs up on us. A professional business would not have done any of those things, nor have employees with such a lack of professionalism or ability at their own job. There are much better ACE Hardwares ( and their competitors) in this area. This one only seems to hire people skilled in running off paying customers. Three separate times with one item, even! Pathetic at best. That's why you keep losing lifelong customers.

We stopped in to get pull chain parts for one of our overhead fans. I like Ace Hardware for this type of item as it is a smaller store and I don’t have to spend a lot of time like I would in one of the big box stores…..in theory. However the item (which I knew from their website was there) was hard to locate and the ladies at the register mis-directed us. I finally found someone on the floor who was kind enough to walk us to the merchandise. I will still go to Ace from time to time, but this was not as quick a trip as I was hoping for.

They won't return item from a different store even with a receipt. They did give me a store credit after chatting with the manager. I don't think this is a good idea in 2024. This policy or lack of policy will deter me from doing business with Ace. Nowhere on the policy......a page long taped to the register did it state this. Also nowhere on their website does it state this policy. I recommend you change this simple policy or you will be closing your doors just like all of Amazons competition has.

Response to owner: Totally understand management has the discretion. I also think bad management is a reason businesses go out of business. But typically it's poor leadership from the top.
