Craters & Freighters recently packed and shipped on my behalf over 200 pounds of classic electronic equipment made in 1985. The manufacturer of this equipment is no longer in business, so parts are no longer available, especially the custom made, high precision O.E.M. mechanical parts. If something got bent or broken in shipping, the devices would have been a total loss. Craters & Freighters did an outstanding job. Packing was superb and the equipment traveled without a scratch. Highly recommended!

In late July 2018, I hired Craters and Freighters to pack and ship a Waterford chandelier from Boston to my home in Paris, France. The charge for doing so was $1400, and I was told that they would not remove the chandelier from the ceiling that I needed to do so myself. They came, and rather than packing the chandelier directly into a crate, they carried it to their truck by hand and without any protection.

When the chandelier was delivered by FedEx in a crate to my apartment, there was only one delivery person. Only after speaking to his supervisor did he agree to carry the crate to my apartment with me.

Three weeks, later in the presence of an electrician, we unpacked the chandelier to find two bowls of the chandelier broken. They had not been removed to be packed separately, as they could have been, but were attached to the chandelier. The cost for replacing the bowls was $817.

When I called C & F to complain, they blamed it on FedEx. When we filed a complaint with FedEx, they said too much time had elapsed to file a complaint. Finger pointing both ways.

I would recommend against ever using C&F, or FedEx.

You can't put a price on confidence and Craters and Freighters handles all details of complex shipping needs with efficiency, refreshing friendliness, professionalism, and exquisite attention to detail. After finding out we needed a fragile item shipped to Europe with only two days' notice, we were desperate. We frequently use other large-scale global shippers but, based on past experiences that were unpredictable and quite messy, we knew we needed to explore other options. Additionally, we needed a custom crate built to ensure that our item arrived in mint condition. Jenna Adisa, their Operations Specialist, is dynamite. She is delightful to work with, follows up and follows through, listens to every need presented by her customer, and lays out options with accurately priced quotes. We couldn't believe she was able to pull off our request and this truly could not have been a more positive experience.

My company has worked with C&F for many years, and I have personally worked with this crew multiple times shipping extremely sensitive lab equipment domestically & to the EU. The communication response is always very quick and the packaging is always very top notch. Even though it can be pricey, the service is absolutely worth not having to deal with any hassles at all. We will continue working with C&F for a long time to come.

10 years ago I sent $100,000 worth of equipment and tools to South America. Because of the packaging, everything got tied up for over a year, and I was never able to recover my equipment. Craters & Freighters had no idea how to ship a large amount of equipment. I lost everything.
