Sports Basement is a retail sports shop. It’s a local Bay Area business with several locations. This one is in Novato off the Highway 101. The inventory is huge ranging from sports equipment, bicycles, clothing, shoes, sunglasses, and rental gear. Rentals include snow, surf, and camping equipment; bicycles; and sports equipment. They have a bicycle repair shop as well.

Pricing is comparable to other like sports shops. They carry quality brands and products. Staff is helpful. I’m not a local, but I do like to stop in when I can. I luv checking out the seasonal gear. I could spend hours in here.

For a $25 one time fee, folks can join the Basementeer rewards program. It offers 10% off purchases among other things.

But the restroom could do with a remodel. They are very old, dirty and worn out. Depressing. So opposite of the look and maintenance of the retail floor. The stalls have no working locks. Not sure the reasoning behind that. Plus when exiting the bathroom, please take caution and watch out for staff wheeling flatbed carts from the side storage. The aisle is narrow and is narrower when staff use it as a storage area.

everyone who works here is always friendly.They are not pushy about sales but if you need help, they are always willing to assist right away. They have really good brands & current styles for every age plus almost everything is priced less than other stores. The clerks at checkout welcome us with a smile & always in for a conversation. My daughter needed new snowboard boots, her old boots were hurting her feet. Finding the right boots with the correct fit was challenging. Two different sales associates, on two different visits to Sports Basement, were incredible helpful, knowledgeable and patient. Twice they ordered different size boots from other SB's and and had them transferred to the Novato store for her to try. Both sale associates on each visit, spent over an hour and half helping her find a pair of snowboard boots that seem like they will work for her. We were told that once she tries the boots on the ski slopes (the true test) and if there are any problems, to come back to SB and they will help her adjust the fit and try to solve the problem. They said they have several techniques to help adjust the boots for a better fit. They even offered to help me adjust the fit of some poor fitting ski boots that I bought elsewhere. We will definitely use Sports Basement for our future skiing and snowboarding needs.

I Was shopping for ski clothes for my 2 grandnephews (10 and 15 years old). They were supposed to come with me but couldn't so i had to do it on my own. Jonah, works in rental equipment is close to the 15 year old's height and weight. he went so much beyond what would be considered great customer service. He tried on several jackets and was the reason I was able to get a jacket, snowboard pants, goggles, ski socks and a ski sweater. I have never had such help; even with my personal shopper at a upscale department store. Thank you Jonah!

I come there spent thousand at your store look me up I’m a registered member and though doing that would give me a piece of mind in your store. NOPE You guys continuously every single time I walk in look at me like he’s a thief because I have tattoos dude I spent more money on my tattoos than you make a year. No reason to judge me just cause your parents told you that guys like me or thieves, you guys should be more humble and more kind to people when Only because we are the ones that pay your check I am the one that gives your company money for clothing and such and get looked at like I’m some trash from my walk in your store. Every single time followed around by multiple employees. They have nothing else better to do and talk about me as they follow around like I’m something of a joke smirking at me when I catch watching and following me. Basically people I try to spend only about five minutes at your store yeah that big location. I started to spend five minutes shopping there because I want to know what I need so I get it and get out and not get harassed with with your employees…I put a pic up next time I come in I better not get harassed or I will never comeback. A couple thousand year or don’t follow me like a lost puppy who can’t find its own tail and thank you for your time

The Tennis staff were amazing.. Knowledgeable, responsive, and very attentive to my needs. I needed my racquet strung quicky and they juggled a few things and got it done. Did a great job!

Great store, big selection, nice employees. I have 6-7 foot problems plus uneven legs (5/8" lift), so needless to say I dread shoe shopping. It's hard to find anything comfortable and have to spend an extra $100 for lifts on top of the shoe price. I came here so I could try on lots of shoes without bothering anyone. To my surprise, this big box store has great shoe staff! Gerald really knows his stuff, and was helpful, kind, and patient with checking the fit on several shoes, looking for the right sizes/colors, and providing solid but never pushy or judgmental advice. So much better than most sports shoe stores! The folks at the register were nice too. Very positive experience!

Sports Basement always delivers. Great products for all sports, especially snow and bike. My go to for all my gear. Best prices around! Great customer service too. Can’t beat it.
