This was my first time to take a course without an instructor. It was much more physically demanding than I expected. I had a hard time performing rate and depth of compression properly and had to repeat many times. But overall, it took me an hour and I learned. I would do it again this way and now I know how hard it will be.

I recently purchased the ACLS and BLS add-on from Safety Training Seminars, and I highly recommend them for anyone needing certification! They are AHA certified, which is essential as almost all hospitals require it. (As a new nurse, I was pretty disappointed to find out my ProTrainings certification that cost $350 didn’t count, so I had to redo everything 😞).

The process was a little unclear at first, so here’s a quick rundown for anyone considering it:
- After purchasing the course, you’ll get an email within 1–2 days with instructions and a login for the online portion. Make sure to complete this before your scheduled skills training, as you can’t proceed without it.
- On your scheduled date, you’ll go in and complete the skills portion in person.

For me, I received my ACLS login the same day I purchased the course, but I didn’t notice that I hadn’t received the BLS login. Of course, I realized this the day of my appointment and called immediately. A super nice lady answered and sent me the login right away so I could finish it in time!

Overall, I’d rate them a 10/10. The staff was kind, helpful, and the signs in their lobby were super clear, which made the skills portion less stressful. If you need ACLS or BLS, this is the place to go!

we had a link to put in the computers to get started and had some trouble with that. My husband does not hear well and began to get very frustrated with our online link sounding a bit garbled once we did get on, but the instructor was extremely patient and repeated herself as needed. Not the simplest experience but effective and well communicated in the end
