Safeway used to be my go to supermarket in the neighborhood. But some of the employees are really rude here. I was shopping on a weekday morning, there was only one check out lane open and there was a long line. I was in a rush to send my kid to school so I went to check the self checkout machines, they were totally empty and not a single customer was there. Therefore I decided to use one of the machine to do self checkout. But during the process, the cashier of the self checkout lane came to me and said: “this machine is only for 15 items and less” in a very rude manner. I told her my situation. But she was like “I didn’t make the rule.” I did have a little more items than 15 but there’s not a single customer in that area, I was not in anyone’s way. Why this cashier has to yell at me in front of my 3 year old son and show her little power above the customer? Even after I explained the situation to her. She has no understanding or empathy or what so ever. I don’t think this kind of person should work in customer service at all. Is this the way Safeway treating their customer now? I will not come back to the store in the near future. This experience really hurt my feelings of Safeway.

It’s visible fm house of my son’s house..at SJ.. The Mall is excellent.. good staff..
& there’s a Starbucks nearby where we spend some quiet time together

Half the time products scan for price other than what’s on the shelf, noone cares to fix. Front end cashier blantly claims the prices the products scan for are right ones. Not shopping here any more.

i would give zero stars but that isn’t an option. i was at self checkout trying to buy sardines and pink sugar cookies. i used apply pay and machine wasn’t working. my card has plenty of money hence it was the machines fault. all of a sudden it called a employee over who was unfortunately very rude. other customers were having the same issue as me and she decided to tell them to “move out of the way”. she was a very rude worker and needs to fix her attitude. i hope she learns her lesson.
