Did business with XRT for a long-distance move of two cars & an ATV.
Paid more & chose XRT because Alex told other shippers add charges later on. HE did exactly what he said he would not do & add additional charges.
He was not my least expensive but he had GREAT communication & a great YELP REVIEW. I found that NOT to be an accurate rating as they are a D+ with BBB. BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.
We used Alex/XRT after getting several quotes. I felt good about him & set up a FUTURE pickup & delivery.
I consulted with my spouse & I suggested XRT, based on their Yelp ratings & my conversations with Alex & other dispatchers.
He was a little pushy about the money, once I committed. He said to reserve my spot, I needed to pay. Lots of hassle to “prove” I had paid (but that is beside the point).
We utilized the company for two vehicles & an ATV.
Further edited.
* "Had to help push the ATV up the ramp. He had no equipment that could help { such as a winch}.
* For vehicle #2, (automobile #1), "he used MY BOARDS at bottom if ramp to lift vehicle. vehicle bottomed out over top & DRIVER BORROWED BRICKS to get it over."
* Vehicle #3, automobile, "He revved engine repeatedly to move the engine forward. {It was a manual transmission}. I could smell oil burning. "
* "For both cars, I had to help him watch the bottom."
* "For ATV, I warned him to tie down the seat. He didn't so I took the seat off, &, after talking to dispatch, I put it in {vehicle #2, first automobile}.
* "He wanted a Bill of Lading which was never provided by Alex. He made me talk to dispatch, again, & they seemed ok."
* "Driver left at 4 PM."
Driver spoke little English so communication was difficult. This is not a criticism but it further explains the length of the process. There was no call from the driver although dispatch had been given my husband's name & number.
My husband said the driver REFUSED to secure the seat. That was not a communication
issue. That was stubbornness & lack of customer service skills (The customer is always right).
So, NOW I COME TO THE BIGGEST ISSUE:
My husband is a 65-year old with an injured shoulder. My husband had to help push the ATV up the ramp. He was in the front & my husband was below. My husband was further injured from the exertion.
It took 3 hours & 40 minutes because the driver did not have adequate equipment.
IT WAS NOT AN ENCLOSED TRAILER but a flat bed trailer. An enclosed trailer was promised. An enclosed trailer was PAID FOR.
I called & messaged Alex, asking for a refund since the trailer was not “enclosed.”
Further complication: Vehicles arrived over a week too early. We were over 1200 miles away.
The following are my areas of disappointment with XRT LOGISTICS & dispatcher, Alex:
1. Overcharged, initially.
2. Overcharged & charged for an enclosed trailer. Got a flat-bed trailer.
3. Driver was not prepared with appropriate equipment to do the job.
4. My senior husband had to provide bricks, boards as no winch or proper tools were present.
5. My senior husband had to do the majority of the pushing. He further injured himself as a result.
6. My husband had to do all communication with XRT.
7. The driver did not listen to customer request to secure ATV seat so it would not be lost.
8. Vehicles arrived before expected date.
9. Driver drove on grass when asked to not do so. He could have positioned the vehicle to not do that.
10. XRT did not respond to numerous requests for price adjustment.
11. I have called Better Business Bureau to file a complaint.
12. I will be pursuing all means to fight excessive charges.
13. No enclosed trailer was present. It was promised.
14. The PICKUP process took 3 hours, 40 minutes. This was due to ill preparation by driver.
15. I have photos of the trailer not being an enclosed trailer.
16. Lack of communication by company, driver.
17. No response to request to review charges.
