We moved from the UK to California and had our things delayed on the UK side, upon arriving into the US and getting in contact with Chris he gave us regular updates and let us know what to expect.

From start to finish, Schumacher did an amazing job from sales rep Tami Grant, to Hayward warehouse manager Barry Ryan & his crew, they were knowledgeable gracious professionals. And their packing job was impressive! Once our furnishings arrived in Rotterdam, Schumacher picked a great partner in Import Global Moving & Shipping. Thanks to everyone for a great move!

After my experience with this company (move from US to Germany), I would not recommend to use them at all.

The only good decision by choosing Schumacher Cargo was, to NOT ship my beloved car with them. I chose another company and that was the only right decision!

The contact before shipping is very good and open. You can reach your assigned agent and they are caring but afterwards, especially when you have a problem - do not even try to reach them, they won't pick up the phone.

During the quotation and preparation process I mentioned several times (in writing) that I have several things from Lego that need to be carefully packed and shipped. Unfortunately I wasn't in the room when they packed the Lego stuff - They used my towels and clothes to "protect" it. No need to mention how it arrived at my home in Germany. I will add some pictures.
It was clearly a bad job on packing but they wrote me that my insurance should cover it. Of course they didn't pay anything for it because of the deductible.
But for sure, if for example, I bring my car into a repair shop and they damage it, my insurance has to pay for it. A joke is that.

The packing list is also a joke. It is so vague, that if something get lost, your insurance won't pay.

Just recently my TV was switched and Netflix was used. It is in New York City right now. If I remember correctly, this was the departure port as well.

No need to say, that they pretend to search for it but then you hear never again from them, or just if you ask...

I recently shipped household goods (furniture, artwork, China) from New York to Tuscany, using Schumacher Cargo. They were professional and responsive from beginning to end, and the pricing was very competitive.

The initial move team in the US was great, and they packed everything with great care.

On the other end, in Italy, the delivery was right on time and the crew unpacked and placed the goods in my home, quickly and safely.

Their customs broker in Europe was very professional and communicative along the way.

I highly recommend Cedric Drocourt and his team at Schumacher!!!!!

I hired Schumacher as they were recommended by others who relocated from the US to Europe. They came out and packed my stuff. Thought it went well. I was in a shared container as I had 36 pieces/boxes. When they arrived at my home, one box was torn open and little dog toys were falling out. I’m not sure what else was in that box and may have tumbled out as well. Should have been wrapped better? Somehow two boxes came up missing. Don’t know where they disappeared from, the port in Oakland, Rotterdam or in the transport to my home. Just gone and no one seemed to track them between each location. One box was books, mostly replaceable. The other box was in-process sewing projects. My handwork, and irreplaceable. I’m really unhappy about the loss.

Everyone was pleasant enough but I wouldn’t use them again. Somewhere something went awry and my stuff wasn’t tracked properly.

Schumacher was thrust up on us by our overseas shipping company when moving back to the US. While our overseas component was amazing, Schumacher ruined the entire experience, not only did they change the delivery logistics of what we paid for through our overseas shipper last minute, they hired multiple companies so that no one knew what was going on when they arrived at our home. We did our best to communicate with Schumacher, but we only received boiler plate responses and it was only when our Shipping Agent got involved that Schumacher actually made an effort . . . in particular I'd like to point out their employee Ivan Montoya, who was the absolute worst person I have ever dealt with in ANY company. I can usually find reasons to overcome any adversary after the fact, but I will NEVER use Schumacher again purely on my experience with this one individual, in addition when asked I will make sure to steer business away from Schumacher based on this individual.

In the end, our boxes made it and nothing was damaged along the way and that’s all that we could have asked for and more.
It was difficult getting our belongings to us and there was a lack of communication throughout. We were quoted 6-12 weeks (closer to the 12 week side due to COVID) from the company in the UK that we shipped outbound with.
It took four whole months to get our belongings.
By the end we had to keep calling Shumacher because they kept telling us they would get back to us and they were not. They started getting fed up with us hunting down our belongings because they could not understand why we kept calling and pushing for someone to get back in contact with us when they weren’t communicating with us.
No one cares about your belongings more than you. I know that our belongings were held up in customs for awhile but I know that they were also held up in their storage warehouse too and they weren’t getting back to us.
Chris, the one in charge of our delivery was very responsive and helpful and happy to answer any and all questions or concerns we had about delivery. And we are so thankful for Chris and glad everything showed up on the morning of the scheduled delivery.

I probably would not use an overseas shipment company again because you have no control over your belongings once they’re handed off. I’m giving 4 stars because, like I say, our items finally made it safe and sound but it was really stressful along the way. I would have rather been quoted 4+ months (16 weeks approximately) on the longer end than be told 12 weeks and have to worry about my belongings never arriving since that’s what a lot of the reviews here say. If you have items coming through with Schumacher I would suggest being in charge of contacting them for your belongings and keep pushing to get your items delivered if you don’t get responses.

From Sonora, California to Aix en Provence ( France). March1st : the movers came right on time, packed very carefully my 3 pieces of furniture and took the rest I packed myself ( mistake) ! The shipment arrived at my new door on July 10th. Yes, it’s a long time ! Again, the movers were quick and careful ( and nice). Not cheap ( about 5000 $) but I would trust this Company again without hesitation.
